Costa Rica 2000

We spent our final afternoon and evening at Club Martino

We could have happily spent several days here instead of just one final night!
Aside from beautiful grounds, exquisite rooms and good food, they have a gym and all kinds of spa treatments. We could have had face lifts and liposuction!

Pool area and rooms viewed from the restaurant.
You tell we were we were happy to be here - even though it was our last night in paradise.

Just about ready to try out this pool.
Dining room.
Picture toward the bathroom in our room. Notice the beautiful dark hardwood on the walls. The accommodations were very luxurious. Unfortunately our camera malfunctioned throughout the entire trip and we were not able to capture all the things we wanted to, including the very large spider on the bath mat. This seems to be a Weske family tradition for our 'last night stays' in Costa Rica.

While at Club Martino, we visited Zoo Ave, right down the street. Zoo Ave is home to non-releasable rehabilitated and/or confiscated birds and animals, both native and nonnative. They have a rehabilitation center and a breeding program for some endangered species. Many of the birds and animals that have been released choose to stay on the grounds. Zoo Ave teaches that wild animals should be left in the wild and protected. It is a beautiful message and a lovely spot that is a favored place to come for the locals.
