This is Buttercup, the sloth ambassador. I believe she
is the first sloth that was given to Judy Arroyo, and as I like to say
about rehab - the rest was history.
|
She was absolutely adorable and happy to see everyone.
We had no idea that they are so soft and that they groom themselves
fairly constantly. Buttercup was "in heat" which occurs for 5 days
once a month.

She is a three fingered sloth. People call them 2 and
3 toed sloths, but both the 2 and 3 fingered sloth have 3 toes so
"fingered" is correct. |
|
At the center we found bats roosting on an old
antennae/dish. The center no longer uses it but it stays for the
bats.

In a tree outside the office window. |
The Center is on a river and we were treated to a canoe ride
as part of our tour.
